Birthday gift order remotely

The customer commissioned this group portrait of their four grandchildren remotely via email. The artwork was created using ten different photographs as a basis. The schedule was quite tight.

My work began with composition: the four children were placed in a cohesive, natural arrangement where they sit on a bench, smiling and holding bags of candy. There was no single reference image; instead, the whole piece was built from the various photographs.

During the process, the artwork also acquired the cheerful name “Granny’s Candy Day,” which the customer warmly approved. The painting combines the client's beloved grandchildren and their favorite place at the cottage – resulting in a unique and personal gift for their spouse, within a suitable budget.

The artwork was created in smooth collaboration with the client. After approval, the finished painting was delivered to a framer, from whom the client picked it up, ready and beautifully packaged as a gift.
