The client wished for a portrait of her 3-year-old daughter, depicting the child in her natural environment – preferably engaged in an activity, such as playing.
The first and only posing session was arranged at the beginning of the portrait process at the client's home, as it is a safe environment for the child. The portrait was created based on the photographs and sketches I took. During the posing, the girl happily played with her dollhouse, which became the perfect subject for this painting. The actual painting work was carried out in my studio peacefully and at my own pace.
The color scheme and the size of the artwork were agreed upon in advance. It was also an important condition for the client that Asta's portrait would harmoniously match her brother's portrait – a work previously painted by another artist.
I am delighted that I succeeded in fulfilling the client's wishes and preserving my own artistic expression in the creation of the portrait. It was pleasing to receive positive feedback from the girl's parents:
