Nature-themed works
In Svetlana Ruoho's paintings, a minimalist and colourful world unfolds to the viewer as the atmosphere of a mystical forest. Layers of oil paint reveal forms resembling moss and Finnish wild plants. Forest ferns bloom into large white flowers, and squirrels and birds play with each other. Small splashes of colour and contrasts enrich the works, bringing them three-dimensionality and vibrancy. In the paintings, reality and imagination delicately intertwine – they invite the viewer to build their own pleasant world in the midst of nature.
