I am a visual artist Svetlana Ruoho.
When I think about myself - as long as I can remember, I have always painted or drawn.
My hands are almost always covered in paint. "Art's purpose is to touch the heart" is my guiding principle. Guided by this thought, I paint and teach.
In 2000, I graduated from an art painting institute and specialized in portrait painting at the Repin Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg.
I moved to Finland in the spring of 2012. I currently live and work in Espoo, where I have a studio in Kilo.
I paint a lot in nature, which is a strong source of my inspiration.
My painting style - previously more classical - has evolved over the years towards a freer expression. The canvases have gained brighter colors, different and stronger textures, and natural materials.
I have created numerous commissioned portraits for clients. Several of my portrait works are also in public collections in Finland.
I enjoy holding various drawing and painting courses in Finland and abroad, both live and remotely.
I love this work because my courses bring a lot of joy and skill to both the participants and myself.
I am a member of the Finnish Painters' Union, and the Espoo and Jyväskylä Artists' Associations.
I actively participate in professional art exhibitions and have also organized my own art exhibitions over the years.
I invite you to explore my pages and my work.
Perhaps you will be inspired to start a new hobby or decide to acquire one of my beautiful paintings for your wall!
