The painting depicts the glow of the day, the spaciousness and airiness of the Finnish lake landscape. The air is full of rays of sunlight filtering through distant, high rain clouds. The water ripples and ripples in a small around the island. This creates a visual impression as if the island is floating on the water or going away from the viewer to find other pleasant places. There are thousands of small islands in Lake Päijänne and almost every one has its own nickname or their own story. For many cottagers, such islands are incredibly dear and, especially for children, they are important places of adventure.
The painting uses collage technique, acrylic and oil paints.
Ready to hang. The artist's signature is on the lower left side of the work and on the other side of the canvas.
